Fire crews from Crittenden, Verona and Walton were called to the scene of a house fire in Grant Count early on Thursday morning.
This is happening on Oakwood Drive near Violet Road.
When firefighters arrived, the roof was in flames. Investigators say the home is a total loss.
Five adults who live there need a new place to live.
While battling the flames, one firefighter fell through the floor of the split-level home. He was not hurt.
Investigators believe the fire started somewhere near the kitchen.
