I've had good results with my daughter at Holmes but I also made sure the beginning of each year the teachers have my phone number and my e-mails and being a single parent that helps a lot. I had a problem with a couple of teachers and their teaching styles with my daughter in the first year she attended middle school there but I haven't had any trouble since. Now I do see kids riding around on their bikes or just walking around when they should be in school - that is a Parent's short coming.

Well, Ms. Jackson is well aware of why attendance is so low in the Covington Independent School system. To those who don't know, I say...The children's education is NOT an important factor in this district. CIPS is all about the money. How much they can get and how much they can spend foolishly without getting caught. Our children go to school for 12-13 years in this district and still cannot read or do math well enough to join the workforce or enter college. She and her co-horts believe it would be "traumatizing" to hold a child back in 3rd grade because of low grades BUT, it's okay to be traumatized as an adult when you find the education system has failed you and you can't get a job!
