A Northern Kentucky food pantry's plea for help has been answered. The Brighton Center in Newport, which provides food for about 25-thousand people, was out of food earlier this week, so they asked for help. They definitely got it, and now they're continuing to get more help.
Local 12's Joe Webb shares the latest.
When you see the pictures, you'll be amazed at what a difference a couple of days can make.
This is what the Brighton Center's pantry looked like Tuesday... empty shelves, except for one box of Cheerios. This is what it looks like today... full shelves and more on the way.
The men of Sigma Phi Epsilon at Northern Kentucky University have organized a week long food drive for the Brighton Center.
The first grade class at Villa Madonna Academy, at the suggestion of a couple of six year olds, is sponsoring a canned food drive tomorrow night. The Brighton Center is grateful.
Bear Clifton, Brighton Center: "First of all, on behalf of the 72-thousand people we serve, thank you. You've gone above and beyond. People aren't just going the extra mile, they are living the extra mile. From companies, to schools, to libraries, to restaurants, we've seen the community come together and truly respond in a united voice to say we don't want to see our friends and families in need."
Despite the full shelves, the Brighton Center says it needs continued support through the holidays.
If you want to help the guys at Sigma Phi Epsilon, you can connect with them through their facebook page.
The Villa Madonna first-graders will be collecting canned goods and donations at the Fort Wright Wal-mart tomorrow from 5-8 pm.
