The difference between "holiday" tree and "Christmas" tree is purely one of semantics. Those who are hyper-sensitive and so easily offended by anything that **may** resemble Christianity have forced the use of "holiday" over "Christmas". It is their loss. Reflection would show you that Christmas has long ago become nothing but a cash cow for the retailers and that the actual meaning of the Christ's Mass holiday has been obliterated by greed. Again, it is their loss and *our* choice as to whether to celebrate "Christmas" or "holiday" during the winter solstice season.

jamie7997 - I agree with you. There is no such thing as a holiday tree. Go ask any of the tree growers for a holiday tree and they'll think you are nuts. WE HAVE A CHRISTMAS TREE ON FOUNTAIN SQUARE. WE HAVE CHRISTMAS TREES IN OUR HOUSES. IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME IN THE CITY! The idiots who want to call our tree a holiday tree, help yourself. But it's a Christmas Tree. AND I WILL BE SAYING MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE. NOT HAPPY HOLIDAYS OR HAPPY CHRISTMAS. DON'T EVEN SOUND RIGHT. (I'm laughing even now at how it sounds.) Why not make Merry Christmas your greeting this year.

It's a CHRISTMAS tree, not holiday tree!

It would be so heartbreaking to have to cut down a 39' tree! Glad at least it went to a good use. The owner needs to take a picture of it.
