It happened on Westbound I-275 near Alexandria Pike just before 4:30 a.m. in Highland Heights.

How do people drive right into the back of big trucks and buses, and turn L right in front of oncoming traffic? No one is certain but the best guesses are "inattentional blindness" and "change blindness". Visual perception does not work as it seems. Ever look for something for 5 minutes and finally find it right in front of your nose? Remember that the next time you're willing to race around a right-turn-on-red with a mere glance in only one direction.

Geezle petes this site is a nightmare. Before I signed in it displays local news stories at the top of the heap from 2012, with notes they were posted hours ago. A bad web presence is worse than no web presence for a purported "news" outlet, it indicates to visitors you're too stupid to be credible.

No msdebic. You should be praying for him. He was driving too fast and too close for the conditions.

You all need to stop assuming. This was my son in law. He slid, plain and simple. He's in the hospital with a broken neck, broken arms, leg, and in surgery. God knows if there are internal injuries. You should be praying for people instead of making snarkey assumptions.

how can you NOT see a BIG salt truck ahead of you? I know the ones over in Clinton county and Highland County have the green flashing lights on back as well. maybe just slid into it because of the slick road, maybe texting, maybe eating, who knows. just glad this person is going to be okay.
