A school bus was involved in an accident Thursday morning on the AA Highway in Campbell County.
It happened at the intersection of Poplar Ridge Road in Alexandria around 8:10 a.m.
A Campbell County Schools special needs bus crashed into the back of a van, according to Alexandria Police. Investigators said the van was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection.
A school district official said there were four children on the bus, along with the driver and an aide. None of them were injured.
However, the driver of the van, a 60-year-old man from Covington, was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
The van was disabled in the crash and had to be towed. The bus remained operative and was driven from the scene.
The school district said the driver has been with them since the 1980's and has an excellent driving record.
