I-71 southbound in Northern Kentucky continues to experience big backups after a number of crashes throughout the night and into the morning hours.
The trouble began on Thursday when the interstate was shut down around 10 p.m. in Glencoe because tractor-trailers could negotiate the hills on the interstate.
The interstate started slowly moving around 4 a.m. Friday morning.
However, traffic was backed up past the weigh station near Verona.
At 10:30 a.m. Troopers told Local 12 that there continue to be accidents along the highway-particularly in Boone County-that are causing delays to Verona. There are no reports of any serious injuries but the icy conditions and the delay in clearing those scenes continues to affect traffic in the area.
