MILWAUKEE, Wis. - It's not exactly something most people would want. But authorities in Milkwaukee are reporting a thief is targeting toilet bowl valves.
CNN is reporting flushing valves have been nabbed from fast food restaurants and five regional universities, most recently Marquette University.
"This is the first time we've ever experienced this or ever heard of it. As you can imagine, at first, it was a little bit odd. But as we found out there were more and more thefts occurring, it became quite serious," a Greenfield Police officer told CNN.
Police said the potty pilferer is reselling them somehow, because the valves are practically worthless as scrap.
Authorities are pouring through surveillance video to identify the so-called "Bathroom Bandit."
