Baby Angel
Baby Angel, an unidentified baby found 31 years ago, is now case number 6-6-5-5 in Namus, the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System. A local forensic anthropologist entered information about the murdered infant Friday.

Local 12's Deborah Dixon tells us, if someone in the country wonders what happened to the Cincinnati girl, they can now look online.

"I'm starting Baby Angel's records."

Mount Saint Joseph's Dr. Beth Murray is on the NAMUS forensic anthropology team.

"Minimum age 1 year, maximum 2, race African American."

Dr. Murray helps coroners, cops, and medical examiners in 11 states enter characteristics of unidentified remains into NAMUS, such as dental records and DNA.

Dr. Beth Murray, Forensic Anthropologist: "When you see the records, you wonder why these people were never reported."

...such as Buckskin Girl, the pig-tailed young woman, found dumped on the side of the road in Miami County Ohio in 1981.

"She wore a buckskin jacket, a unique sweater, look at this."

If Buckskin's mother is looking for her, she can find her in NAMUS. It's accessible to anyone.

"Individual family members can put missing person records into the system and search the unidentified side to find the remains of loved ones."

"It gives us hope."

Debbie Culberson worked with the Justice Department to create the database. There is information, daughter Carrie Culberson was dismembered after she was murdered by ex-boyfriend Vince Doan, nearly 14 years ago. Her remains have never been found. Debbie created her missing persons file for NAMUS.

Debbie Culberson, Mother: "I think this is where I'm going to find Carrie. I don't look for the family to divulge. This is my hope."

"With NAMUS system there aren't going to be happy endings, just endings."

In the case of Baby Angel, the ending, identifying her is a way to get justice for her murder.

Namus has matched 16 missing persons with remains.

Last week, a Kansas woman looked for her missing sister on NAMUS and found her photo. 22 year-old Paula disappeared from her hometown in 1989. Her body was found in Miami County, Ohio, along I-75.
