The Boone County Sheriff says a middle school student was hurt Friday morning when he was hit by a car while walking to school.
13 year old Daulton Oliver was walking south in the northbound lane of Camp Ernst Road in Burlington just before 7 a.m. He was headed to Camp Ernst Middle School.
Deputies say Oliver turned suddenly and started to cross the street. That's when a 56 year old Burlington driver braked and swerved to avoid him, but clipped him with the passenger side mirror.
Oliver was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky with reported minor injuries.
There is no crosswalk or other traffic control devices at the scene of the accident.
No charges have been filed.
