Four More Charged in Connection with Steubenville Rape Case

Updated: Monday, November 25 2013, 12:04 PM EST
STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- A grand jury indicts four people including a school superintendent in connection with the 2012 rape of a 16 year old girl in Steubenville.

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced the charges Monday morning. The grand jury investigated whether adults like coaches or school administrators knew of the rape allegation but failed to report it as required by state law.

The Steubenville superintendent faces the most serious charges, including obstructing justice. A principal, a strength coach and a volunteer coach also are charged.

Two high school football players were convicted of the rape in March. The case drew national attention after photos and videos of the attack made their way online.
