Updated: Monday, October 14 2013, 10:11 PM EDT
WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKRC) -- Government shutdown is keeping most IRS workers at home but that doesn't mean you're off the hook for your taxes.

The agency says Tuesday's deadline for filing your taxes if you requested a six-month extension in April still stands.

But the IRS says it will not issue any refunds until "normal government operations resume."

The agency also will not have any workers to take calls or help taxpayers in person.  More than 90 percent of IRS staff is on a government-wide furlough. Taxes Due Even if Government is Shutdown
