NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) - The Central Connecticut State University campus in New Britain is no longer in lock down after school officials said one person is in police custody.

However, sources and photos said three people are in police custody.

Campus officials said a suspicious person carrying a gun was spotted on campus Monday around noon.

Shortly after that, students were advised to stay indoors and stay away from windows because of a "campus emergency."

"We will communicate when we have more info. This is not a drill," university officials tweeted around noon.
Students told Eyewitness News an unidentified man, who was possibly wearing a mask and camouflage pants, with a gun was on campus.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
The New Britain Police Department along with police in surrounding towns, state police SWAT and state police major crimes unit were called to the CCSU campus.

Officers surrounded F. Don James Hall, which is a residence hall on the New Britain campus.

Campus officials kept the media and students updated via the university Twitter account, reminding students to stay indoors and avoid going near windows.

"This is not a drill. Stay indoors. This is an emergency," the university tweeted around 12:45 p.m.

New Britain Mayor Tim O'Brien went to the campus as well and updated the media periodically.

The CCSU campus lock down was lifted at 3:20 p.m.

"There is no longer a need to remain indoors," the CCSU website said.

HALS Academy and Holmes Elementary schools in New Britain were placed into a "modified lock down" after the "campus emergency."

Classes at CCSU were canceled for rest of Monday just before 3 p.m.

CCSU officials will be holding a news conference at Alumni Hall, Student Center at 4 p.m. and it will be live on
