Immigration Reform: House Will Not Talk on Senate-Passed Bill

Updated: Wednesday, November 13 2013, 09:08 PM EST
WASHINGTON, D. C. (WKRC) -- Speaker of the House, John Boehner, says he does not intend to hold formal compromise talks on the immigration bill passed by the Senate.

The Senate bill tightens border security and provides a path to citizenship for the 11million immigrants living in the US illegally.

Speaker Boehner said, "We have no intention of ever going into conference on the Senate bill, and so chairman Goodlatte is working with our members and frankly across the aisle developing set of principles that will help guide us as we deal with this issue."

Boehner declined to say whether the House would take a vote before the end of the year. Immigration Reform: House Will Not Talk on Senate-Passed Bill
