Woman Attacked, Bound in her Apartment

Updated: Wednesday, November 13 2013, 07:01 PM EST
TRENTON, Ohio (Angenette Levy) -- A 53-year-old woman was bound with tape and electric cords in an attack in her Trenton apartment Tuesday morning.

Leslie Whicker, 39, faces charges of aggravated burglary and kidnapping.

Around 10:30 a.m. the victim said Whicker knocked on her door and when she opened it he had a knife and threatened to slit her throat if she said anything.

"I thought he was going to kill me," the victim told Local 12's Angenette Levy.

The victim has serious health problems and takes pain medication. She said Whicker tied her up and demanded her pain medicine, ransacked her apartment and took her television. She said he stuffed her under her mattress.  Her landlord was suspicious when he saw Whicker outside with the television. He wrote down the license plate number and called police.

The vehicle was later found in Hamilton.

The victim weighs about 90 lbs. but said she tried to fight off Whicker. She had met him over the weekend at the Sycamore Rd. apartment building while he was visiting a family member.

The suspect's mother said her son isn't a bad person but he does have an addiction to heroin. Whicker's mother said she is sorry for what happened to her neighbor. The attack left neighbors shaken.

"She has a lot of health problems and things going on. She is somebody that would do anything for anybody. And just very loving and giving," said Shelley Akers.

Whicker remains in the Middletown City Jail. The stolen property has not been recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
