Ross Student Arrested for Threats

Updated: Friday, November 15 2013, 11:15 PM EST
ROSS TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) -- Police arrest a 16-year-old student at Ross High School after he allegedly made a threat.

Investigators
say they intercepted the boy at school on Wednesday after learning that
he was threatening to take out the principal and take control of the
school.

They did not find any weapons on the student. Officials say they learned of the threat from another student.

On November 13th the teen was charged with one count of misdemeanor
aggravated menacing.  No plea was entered or taken in court when the
teen appeared on the
14th.  The magistrate ordered the teen held in the juvenile detention
center and a psychological evaluation.

Friday afternoon the juvenile court received an additional charge of making a terroristic threat, a felony.

When asked about the likelihood of the terroristic threatening count
going to adult court, Rob Clevenger, the Butler County Juvenile Court
Administrator, said it is not a candidate for mandatory bindover.

The decision to seek bindover to adult court would be driven by the prosecutors office.

Terroristic threatening is not a charge seen often in juvenile court.
