Updated: Thursday, November 21 2013, 11:19 PM EST
HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) -- Police say a Woodlawn woman severely burned her daughter as a punishment for using the phone.

34-year-old Andriel Mathis is in jail Thursday night charged with felonious assault.

Investigators say Mathis forced the 14-year-old's hands onto a hot stove top several times.  Court documents say the teen suffered second and third degree burns on both hands.

The incident happened at a home on Faxon Court.

Mathis will face a judge Friday morning on the charge.
