Man Charged with Trying to Arrange Murder-for-Hire

Updated: Tuesday, November 26 2013, 10:50 PM EST
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A Hamilton grand jury indicts a man who is accused of trying to arrange a murder-for-hire to take out a witness in another criminal case against him.

Kendall Flucas was already in jail, accused of beating a delivery man with a rock at Cincinnati State on September 5, during a robbery. The victim needed staples in his head.

During pre-trial discussions, the judge had indicated that he would likely impose the maximum sentence of 14 years, if Flucas was convicted.

A police investigation and a review of recorded phone calls from the jail, led to a charge of conspiracy to commit murder. The victim in the robbery was the alleged target. If he's convicted of that charge, Flucas faces 11 years in prison. He was already on probation for an unrelated robbery.

In a release, prosecutor Joe Deters said, "Flucas is one of the most dangerous kinds of criminals.  Even after committing a serious assault, getting arrested, jailed and indicted, he still does not stop engaging in criminal activity."
