Gunman Try to Rob Family Dollar

Updated: Friday, November 1 2013, 11:25 PM EDT
GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) -- Two armed thieves tried to rob the Family Dollar in Green Township Thursday.

Police say the two men with masks ordered an employee to give them cash from the register. The employee wasn't able to open the drawer. One of the thieves jumped the counter and tried to force it open, while the other kept a gun on the employees.

The thieves ran off without taking any cash. They were last seen running on Colerain toward Byrneside Drive. A police dog was brought in to try to track them down, but they got away.

Both thieves are black, 5' 9" with average builds. One was wearing a dark blue coat and dark pants. The other was wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.

No one was hurt.
