Call for Action to Stop Gun Violence

Updated: Monday, November 11 2013, 09:37 PM EST
AVONDALE, Ohio (WKRC) -- Local church groups come together to try to stop gun violence that is targeting our kids.

Project Nehemiah Ceasefire and clergy members joined with family members of 14-year-old Trevaughn Everett Monday afternoon.  The teen was shot and killed earlier this month at Hickory Avenue and Harvey Street in Avondale.

Monday's gathering was held on the spot where Everett was killed.  His death came just a few weeks after 14-year-old Dewayne Lewis was shot and killed in South Fairmount.

The Pastors say there has been little public outcry about the violence and that needs to change.  They're pledging to do all they can to help but say they can't solve the problem alone.

No one has been arrested in connection with Everett's murder.

Julius White is charged with the murder of Dewayne Lewis but investigators say there could be more arrests in that case.
