Young boy with inoperable brain cancer gets to meet Bon Jovi
SWEDESBORO, N.J. (WKRC) -- An 8-year-old boy with inoperable brain cancer got the surprise of a lifetime when he got to meet one of his heroes: Jon Bon Jovi.
Mario Carpino was diagnosed with brain tumors when he was only 4 years old. His dream was to help other kids with cancer, so he started running a lemonade stand to raise money. So far, Mario's fundraisers have raised over $150,000 in four years.
Bon Jovi is one of Mario's heroes. His favorite song is "Who Says You Can't Go Home?"
It was his wish to meet Bon Jovi. He wanted him to come to his fundraiser, Alex's Lemonade Stand, at a local fire department.
His mother told him anything could happen, so they made a Facebook to spread the word about the fundraiser and Mario's wish.
Bon Jovi helped fulfill Mario's wish as he made an appearance at the fundraiser. He even lent a helping hand.
"Nothing can put you down, nothing can make you go down, nobody can tell you stop believing," said Mario.
After his biggest wish came true, it'll be hard for Mario's family to stop believing.
