Teen gets a new hand thanks to her friends
LIBERTY CENTER, Ohio (WKRC) -- A northeast Ohio teen got the surprise of her life when friends got her a new hand after a successful Twitter campaign.
Torri Biddle, 19, was born without a fully-developed right arm, but she hasnt let it slow her down.
The Ohio teen has played basketball since she was young and told friends she hoped she could one day get a bionic hand, but realized the $150,000 cost was prohibitive.
Her friends took to Twitter beginning the trending hashtag, #HandForTorri.
The effort attracted the attention of "The Buried Life," a group that helps strangers achieve their dreams. The group worked with the Hanger Clinic to give Torri a brand-new, bionic hand, free of charge.
Now, Torri's tying her shoes, curling her hair, and so much more.
Her father says this new addition has opened up a whole new world of possibilities.
