New world record from BASE jump in Dubai
DUBAI (Derek Drake) -- Don't look down! Ok... Maybe they should look down.
A pair of French daredevils, Fred Fugen and Vince Reffet, just set the world record for BASE jumping, leaping from the top of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building at 2,716 feet.
"This is the dream, you know?" Reffet said. "It's the highest building in the world."
Thanks to Skydive Dubai and Red Bull the pair achieved their dream and set the world record at the same time.
The jump was captured from all angles using helicopters, and even a third daredevil who jumped right behind the pair to shoot high definition video behind them as they circled the building like a pair of Superman impersonators.
With red smoke trailing their decent the pair landed safely at the base of the Burj Khalifa where a Guinness World Record representative was waiting to present them with their new World Record!
