A dramatic reminder for parents and caregivers everywhere

CINCINNATI (Derek Drake) -- A shocking number of children die from being left in hot cars than one would think.

According to the Department of Geosciences there has been 575 deaths since 1998, 73% of which were children under the age of 2.

The video depicts the dangers of making the deadly mistake of leaving a child in a hot car; explaining that it can take as little as 15 minutes in an overheated car for a child to suffer life-threatening brain or kidney injuries.

When body temperatures reach 104 degrees, internal organs shut down and at 107 degrees, children die.
