The flu vaccine is quickly becoming a hot debate as Tri-Staters do what they can to stay healthy this year.  Many people are waiting in long lines to be vaccinated, particularly against the H1N1 virus. But there are also crowds of people who are strongly saying ‘no way’ to the H1N1 Vaccine. Are they making the right call, or making a mistake?

Today, Local 12 is launching a day of coverage centered around the flu. There will be experts from the Cincinnati Health Department answering viewer questions about H1N1 live in all our shows, beginning on Local 12 First at Four.  Some of those questions include: when will we get more vaccine?  How can pregnant women and newborns be protected from the flu?  How bad will the season be and how long will it last?  Are some hand sanitizers better than others?  And are there natural ways to protect against the flu if I don't want to get the vaccine?

In the meantime, be sure to check out all the information on our special Local 12 Flu Tracker Website. The site explains symptoms and treatment for the flu, both H1N1 and seasonal. You can go there to find the latest on research, differences between the seasonal variety and Swine flu, symptoms, treatments, and ways to protect yourself if you can't get a vaccine, or don't want to.

And be sure to watch Local 12 all day for our special coverage.
