Boone County Sheriff deputies continue to investigate a crash between a train and a semi-truck carrying muffin batter in Richwood Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies say the northbound Norfolk Southern railroad train collided with a tractor trailer semi on Shoreland Drive near where it intersects with U.S.-25 (Dixie Highway) just after 3 p.m.
Babic Smail, 40 of Dubuque, Iowa was driving the semi on Shoreland Drive for Zis Transport out of Independence, Kentucky hauling muffin batter and had just crossed over the R.R. tracks when he stopped near the intersection of Dixie Highway, leaving the rear part of the semi trailer blocking the tracks. The train engine ripped the rear of the trailer off.
There are no reported injuries.
