A Finneytown teen is accused of lashing out and making threats after last Friday's shootings in Connecticut.

18-year-old Devin Carey faces one charge of inducing panic.

According to court records, he made a statement on a Facebook page saying he was sick of the comments on Facebook about the Newtown shooting and wanted to shoot kids himself.

Carey is in the Hamilton County Justice Center and is scheduled for hearing Monday.

People are treating him like he's a child. An 18 year old knows better. He should absolutely be punished. We too often overlook these types of threats and horrible things happen. What kind of heartless person could use an incident like this to "get a rise out of people"....time to set an example!

Gkemper,I didn't say to put him away for life because of his looks, I said that because of the comment he made that he thought was SO funny, well I bet he's not LAUGHING now,but I am. I'm sure none of the shooters friends and family ever thought HE would do it either, because if they did, he would've been put away before he DID it.Maybe your buddy will think twice now before printing stupid ass comments for every one to see.We know he's stupid for thinking anybody else would think what he said was funny, did you? Go ahead, tell us all that you did.

I disagree with the people who think arresting him for a comment he made is unjust. Those same people would say the warning signs were there or something should have been done sooner, if he actually went through with it. I think he needs to write a public apology and be sentenced to community service that has something to deal w/ violent crime victims and/or their families. He should also be banned from social media. Jail time may not be the answer but their are other ways to educate people and teach them some things are better left unsaid.

"zookeeper" he LOOKS like someone who would go through with this??? Wow! Lets just judge people based on their looks, and lock people up for life cause you don't like the way they LOOK. That makes perfect sense. I'm friends with Devin and he is a troll. He has a different sense of humor than most people but his FRIENDS know that. His FRIENDS know that he would never hurt a child. He is silly and goofy and loves to rile people up and make them laugh. FREE DEVIN CAREY!

This dude could've just easily logged off Facebook if he was tired of seeing posts on the incident. Nothing can fix stupid.
