Remember that huge eyeball that washed up in Florida last week? Well, it turns out, it may have belonged to a swordfish. At least, that's what Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials say.
In a statement, the agency said experts made the determination based on the size, color and structure of the eye.
The agency says cuts on the bone around the eye suggest an angler may have cut the eye out of a swordfish and tossed it overboard. A D-N-A test is being done to confirm the agency's findings.
The FWC posted pictures of the big eye last Thursday after it was found by a man on Pompano Beach.
