The storm dumped several inches of snow on the Tri-State on top of the nearly foot of snow that was already on the ground

Jim,you're right....you probably ARE "WRONGER" than I am. :) And after I wrote my comment about the date, I thought about it and remembered I was in the 10th grade not the 11th. So that WOULD'VE been '77. Still, SOOOOOOOOOO long ago.And if you're older than ME, DAAAAAMN. :)

Ammy, calm down. Relax. Take a deep breath. I was joking. I did NOT report ZooKeeper for truancy! I did NOT call the FBI. I do NOT know whether or not there is a Statute of Limitation on truancy. The FBI does NOT even investigate truancy cases… yet. I’m sure ZooKeeper took it as the joke it was meant to be. I doubt s/he’s on the run. If anything I would encourage kids to be truant as often as possible as a means of combatting the liberal indoctrination. Besides, even if the FBI did follow up on this case what’s the worst that could happen? (Will they force him/her to be “tutored” by Cassandra Elfers to make up for missed time?) ‘8^) BTW, I reported you to the FBI for attaching a frown face to the end of your post! (JUST KIDDING) ‘8^P Oh, you’re referring to my 12:51 PM comment. In my defense I had my reservations about that post. So much so that I asked another WKRC user what he thought of the potential post. He suggested I shouldn’t post it, but my wife (who claims I never listen to her) thought it was hilarious. Normally I would allow my mommy to be the tie-breaker, but, in this case, I simply decided to side with my wife. It certainly was not my intention to offend. I would certainly apologize to the person I addressed if she were offended in the least.

Zookeeper, it appears as if we both may be wrong. Of course, since I’m older than you, you are more wrong than I am! ‘8^P The first measurable snow in Florida occurred on January 19, 1977 (See link below). The snow I encountered in Lakeland obviously wasn’t the FIRST time Florida experienced snow. BTW, I’ve reported you to the FBI for your truancy. Perhaps you’re not aware of this but there is NO STATUTE OF LIMITATION on truancy!

Jim, I'm pretty sure it WAS '78 when it snowed down here, cause I was still in school,I stayed home that day, called my mom at work, told her I was sick so I could stay home. She told me NOT to go outside.I did for alittle bit anyway, just because I had to be in it again.Thought for sure she'd find out that I did so I didn't stay out long.:) But I was in the 11th grade, I graduated in '79. HOLLY CRAP! That was a long time ago.

LADYWBADGE, I have absolutely no intention of disputing age with a Lady with a badge, handcuffs and a gun! Jimmy may have been born at night but it wasn’t last night. However, you may be happy to hear 40 is the new 30. ‘8^P I’ve always wanted to ask, but never in person - Do lady cops take off work during their period or is that their best week for arresting (and beating) bad guys? '8^D

rosey red - you and I are the same age. I also was 27 at the time (young dumb and bullet proof). Our normal rough landscape was eerily flat. Dips in the road could be 6 feet deep with snow while only inches laid on top of some fields. Ditches along the road were all filled making it impossible to determine exactly where the road was underneath. The road leading to the local elementary school had to be cleared with a bulldozer. I had a level 5 emergency clearance to drive on the road, but even with chains on a 4wheel drive with wide tires I had much trouble. I had stop twice and clean snow out of the trucks grill deposited from hitting snow drifts. In a 1 mile stretch of road I counted 13 abandoned vehicles (there were many more along the way)....Today I would just stay home and throw another log on the fire and call it "even"
