Commuters in the Tri-State had to change their driving strategy on Thursday morning after the crash of a honey truck closed a major artery in the downtown area for more than 15 hours.

The southbound I-71 exit (exit 1) to southbound I-71/75 finally reopened after 8 a.m. Thursday.

A tractor-trailer overturned on the ramp to Southbound I-71/75 between Walnut Street and the Brent Spence Bridge about 5 p.m. Wednesday night.

The truck was carrying a load of honey when it crashed. The sticky mess made it hard for crews to clean it up.

At one point Thursday night, traffic was backed up to the Martin Luther King exit.

Too bad they couldn't use "Dawn" for the cleanup like they do for grease spills.
