Marist polled more than 1,200 adults nationwide.
Topping the list of annoying terms: whatever, with 32% of the vote.
Next came "like" which 21% didn't like -- followed by "you know" and "just sayin".
Runners-up included "twitterverse" and "gotcha".
The results mirrored last year's survey when "whatever" was tops for a third straight year
