COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A four-day Xbox gaming marathon apparently was too much for one 15-year-old Ohio boy.

WBNS-TV reports that the Columbus teen collapsed and was hospitalized Tuesday after becoming severely dehydrated. His mother says he emerged from his bedroom during the four days only to pick up snacks or take a quick shower.

The boy was so engrossed in playing Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox that he made himself sick.

He's expected to be OK - but his mom has taken away the Xbox.

Dr. Mike Patrick, an emergency physician at Nationwide Children's Hospital, recommended that gamers use some common sense: Get plenty of food and fluids, take breaks for physical activity and get some sleep.

I play that game every day but keep myself hydrated :) Seriously though, I would think some sort of charges for mom would be appropriate. Anyone want to play MW3 tonight?

His grandfather... or great grandfather may have stayed awake four days on little or no rations and no shower.. but was fighting a *real* war. How times have changed.

We all need at least 30 minutes of even moderate exercise each day. I'm worried kids now won't even have social skills. It's much easier to be a lazy parent than a responsible parent. The U.S. is going downhill fast.

our 2 girls play video games but not to the point of excess. they play every sport under the sun and we do a lot of outdoor activities. I think some fat lazy POS parents like when theyre fat lazy kids play video games 24/7 because thats less time they have to spend with them, its like a babysitter. I was at best buy the other day and it was like a fat nerd marathon in the video game section. Its sad parents let this happen

That's what she gets letting the xbox be the babysitter. Idiot woman. Poor, stupid kid. I'm glad my kids like eating more than they like playing video games. At the hint of food, they drop everything and run for the kitchen. These gadgets are supposed to be rewards for something done well, not something the kid has all day long. At my house, school started today, and guess where all the video games/gameboys/DS's are? Locked away. School comes first.
