An Ohio State Trooper's cruiser was struck while she was helping a driver who had slid off the road early Friday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on I-75 northbound in West Chester, just south of the Tylersville exit.

One truck had slid off the road behind a guardrail.

When the trooper stopped to help, another pickup truck driver apparently hit a slick spot, striking the cruiser.

The trooper was able to jump out of the way, and was not hurt.

The woman driving the second pickup complained of pain, but refused transport to the hospital.

[When the trooper stopped to help, another pickup truck driver apparently hit a slick spot, striking the cruiser.] Uh... Friday morning at 2am? I think another pickup driver apparently was traveling too fast for conditions, which is negligence, not accidental. Oh, I don't know....Maybe just to serve as a reminder of just how dangerous it is out there for law officers and first responders and maybe just a reminder to drive slowly during icy weather.
