A Brown County man accused of shooting his son to death in December will not go to trial.  A Grand Jury returned a "no bill" for 71 year old Leroy Louderback of Georgetown.

A "No Bill," according to Jessica A. Little, Brown County Prosecutor, generally means that the Grand Jury did not find enough evidence to return an indictment. However, according to Ms. Little, in this case, the Grand Jury was given the law regarding an individual's right to defend himself while inside his own residence.  Ms. Little said, "We believe that the Grand Jury relied upon that legal theory to find that the shooting was justified."

Louderback was charged with involuntary manslaughter for shooting his 41 year old son John.  The shooting happened at the elder Louderback's home on December 16th.

It is a sad situation and the father had no choice. I'm thrilled there will be no charges. For those of you that think otherwise, you are not familiar with this family.

Ths is a sad situation and quite a history to go along with it, I bet. What must he have been facing that a father would have to shoot his son? That alone should speak to desperation. And, how did pills enter into this? What a stereotype. Wow.

This is a tragedy that this man will have to live with for the rest of his life... I am a fellow resident of Brown County and I will tell you Cincinnatus- NOT EVERY argument here is over PILLS!!! You do not know enough history to even have that screen name... The REAL Cincinnatus was a freedom fighter that would never allow talk like that! My deepest sympathies for the Louderback family!
