I-71 in Boone County was closed for almost three hours Thanksgiving night after a chain reaction crash.

Deputies tell Local 12 News 31-year old Amber Chandler slammed into the back of a stopped car on I-71 north near the Verona exit about 6:30 p.m.

It caused a chain reaction crash involving four other vehicles.

The impact sent Chandler's car across the median, onto I-71 south.

The car crashed into a ditch.

Two of Chandler's children were flown by medical helicopter  to Children's Hospital.

Three other people were injured and rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
