A Florence man vanishes and more than 2 months after his disappearance deputies are no closer to finding him. Boone County Sheriff's deputies now suspect foul play in the disappearance of Terry Hand.
Hand's daughter reported him missing on January 8th. His family is on a desperate search for answers. Hand's family is going through a tough time. His mother and daughter are both desperate to know what happened to him. Joann Hand, Terry's mother, says "He's just my baby and I love him and I want closure. I think that something really terrible has happened to him."
The last time Joann spoke with her son was when he called to wish her happy New Year. The last time anyone saw Terry was January 6th. Two days later, his daughter reported him missing. Taylor Hand, Terry's daughter, says "I was at my fiance's house for a few days and my Dad was supposed to pick me up Monday night, but he never showed up and I had somebody answer his phone two times, but no one spoke."
Taylor's fiance, Jeff Dunn, says "Well when I first heard about it, my heart just dropped and I did not know what to do. I was just so petrified because I would've never expected anything like this to happen."
Sheriff's deputies have interviewed nearly 50 people looking for clues. Terry's mobile home in Florence seemed undisturbed. At the time of disappearance, his Ford Mustang was still in the driveway. "He's a sweet disposition person. I can't imagine him having a mortal enemy."
People at Jero Inc. knew something was wrong when the reliable worker didn't show. Terry's disappearance has been devastating for his family. "How would anybody feel to have a child out there and not know anything except that one day he went to the dollar store, he came home, he set his bag down, locked his door, went back outside and never made it to his car."
There's been no cell phone activity on Hand's phone. His bank accounts haven't been touched. Investigators have also checked jails, hospitals, and other law enforcement agencies with no sign of him.
