MEDINA, Ohio (AP) - Five people have been injured in accidental shootings at gun shows in North Carolina, Indiana and Ohio.

At the Dixie Gun and Knife Show in Raleigh on Saturday, a 12-gauge shotgun discharged as its owner unzipped its case at a security entrance. Two bystanders were hit by shotgun pellets. A retired deputy sheriff's hand was struck.

In Indianapolis, a man was unloading his .45-caliber semi-automatic when he shot his hand while leaving the Indy 1500 Gun and Knife Show.

And in Medina, Ohio, a gun dealer was checking out a semi-automatic handgun he'd bought when he accidentally pulled the trigger. Police say the gun's magazine had been removed, but one round remained in the chamber.

The bullet ricocheted off the floor and struck a friend's arm and leg.

The moral they are trying to push, yet again, is guns are bad. They want to outlaw gun shows now. SMH

Lee – I tip my hat to you! That is a brilliant idea!!! Perhaps it could even be made into a weekly reality cable show. Both humans and guns could show up every week and be required to prove who is smarter; an inanimate object or a human being. Perhaps you could write the questions. This could become a series extending to automobiles, hammers, bicycles, flatware, electric outlets, lollipops and coffee tables (this list should not be construed as being all inclusive). I think you are onto something here ….... :^)

People who buy guns should have to prove they are SMARTER than the guns they are buying....

Gunney – AP reports, “ … man was UNLOADING (emphasis mine) his .45-caliber semi-automatic when he shot his hand ...”. WISHTV-8 in Indiana reports, “... man, …. was LOADING (emphasis mine) his .45 caliber semi-automatic …..”. That is … BOTH reports can not be CORRECT. That is my point. Does it bother you we can not trust the media to deliver facts, upon which to make informed decisions?
