TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Police in Ohio say a fight between two students at the University of Toledo has left one dead and another injured.

University police say both men had been stabbed.

Officers say both were found Wednesday night outside a dormitory where they were staying during the school's holiday break.

Only a handful of students were staying in the building.

The school's police chief says the men knew each other and that this wasn't a random attack.

He says the fight took place in a stairwell inside the dormitory.

Police say the student who survived was found outside the front of the building, and the man who died was found about 10 minutes later.

No charges have been filed.

TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - One person has died and another has been injured in stabbings on the University of Toledo's main campus.

In a statement on its website, the university says a stabbing was reported at 9 p.m. Wednesday at its International House. When officers arrived, they found an injured person and took the person to a local hospital.

University administrator Larry Burns says about 20 minutes later, police found a second victim who had died, apparently from injuries caused by a stabbing.

A university spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment early Thursday.

The university says International House is home to six students during the winter break, along with four staff members and four student workers. The Toledo Blade reports that when school is in session, about 400 students live there.

I sure hope Local 12 updates this story. These were NOT foreign students. Besides, what does nationality have to do with any of this?

Annys2Cuties - Does it matter what nationality? What are you implying here? For the record, one of the men was from Mansfield, OH and the other from Detroit, MI. I don't know what students international house typically houses, but during holiday break, it is the only dorm open to students who elect to stay on campus during the holiday break. They 2 males live in other dorms throughout the school year, but had temporarily moved into International House since they were staying on campus instead of going home (for whatever reason) during the holiday break. Feel free to read The Toledo Blade for more information.

Since these are foreign students, charges have not been filed yet? Will they be? If not, why not. One person killed another. What's going on here? I just assume they are foreign because they didn't go home for the Christmas holidays. Yes, I said CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS. JUST LIKE TREES. THEY ARE CHRISTMAS TREES, NOT HOLIDAY TREES.

"International House"...is this like a student exchange sort of dorm...you know, global nationalities? If so, what nationalities?

It's extremely depressing to read about what seems to be a rash of copy-cat incidents, nation-wide, related to (or, sickeningly, inspired by) the tragedy in Connecticut, and the trend isn't dying out. These truly messed up people are running around FREE in this country, obviously always on the mental verge of just this sort of action.

At a minimum, stricter knife laws, I think I will go stand outside my kids university campus in my military uniform...unarmed.
