FORT WRIGHT – Police in Northern Kentucky are investigating a mysterious car crash in Fort Wright.

It happened early Friday morning. Officers responded to Morris Road near Amsterdam after a car crashed into the woods. The gas tank then ruptured.

The car burned so badly they could not read the license plate number or the VIN number.

There was no driver in the car when police arrived.

This happened a few miles from Walmart. It is on the the other side of I-75 near the Southwest side of Devou park. Morris and Amsterdam cross there.

Probably a DUI car abandonment. At least no one was injured. The car could have been stolen.

Did it crash at the bottom of a steep street/hill?

The DUI witch hunt is often what causes drivers to abandon their cars after a crash. Leaving the scene when there are no injuries or other vehicles damaged is a much lighter charge.
