Time to start digging through the basement for old beer-related memorabilia. It just might be worth a little cash.
Find out this weekend at the Holiday Beer and Breweriana Extravaganza at the Christian Moerlein Lager House, Downtown at The Banks.
Appraisers will be available on the second floor of the restaurant to look over old beer-memorabilia. Booths will be separated into categories: steins, beer bottles, cans, signs, advertisements, and a booth for things that do not fit in to any of those categories.
Events like this one are held at the Lager House every other year.
"We had one gentleman that brought in 1800 {era} German Army beer steins and they were clanging in a paper bag," said Greg Hardman, President of the Christian Moerlein Brewing Company. "They were worth about eleven-hundred to twelve-hundred a piece. We also had a gentleman who brought in a beer stein, had no idea what he had, and the value of it was 10,000 dollars."
The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10.
There will also be ten different holiday beers for sale. Sales start Saturday and continue through the holiday season.
