Traditionally, the bachelor party is organized by the best man, and the bachelorette event by the maid or matron of honor. But these days, the party can take many forms. Some modern couples prefer to have a group celebration, where everyone parties or goes out dancing together. It's important to honor the bride and groom's wishes, so try to get an idea of what they would like; then plan accordingly. You can still keep the details a surprise. Because no one wants to look tired on their wedding day, there's a trend toward holding such parties a weekend or two before the wedding. Make the event memorable by personalizing it to reflect the guest of honor. For example, if he or she is a sports fan or music buff, choose an event that's related to their interest. Or, you might tie the party theme to their honeymoon destination: for those headed to Hawaii, throw an outdoor luau. Another fun and safe option is to rent a bus or trolley for transportation. That way, everyone can travel together to the restaurant, bars, or other destination, with no worry about drinking and driving.
