Due to the size and complexity of most corporate events, you'll require the assistance of caterers and other professionals to pull them off, and may want to hire an event planner to oversee the entire process. Start by developing and sticking to a budget. You'll also need to find a site, and choose a theme. The theme could be based on a company motto, or a creative concept like the 50's, the tropics, or 'wild west.' Depending on the purpose of the event, you'll need to schedule some sort of activity. This could be a guest lecture, a panel discussion, an awards presentation, or an exhibit. For corporate events that are less work and more 'play,' you'll want to arrange entertainment, such as a band, DJ, comedian or other performer. Next, consider the menu, and how it will be served. If your event is a fundraiser, utilize press releases and other tools, to attract media attention. Finally, develop some way to gauge the success of the event, once it's over. Sure, attendance is one gauge, but did the people present enjoy themselves? Will they come back next year? Use surveys, questionnaire cards or interviews to gather feedback.
