An outdoor ceremony can make your wedding a memorable and beautiful event. There are numerous places where your ceremony can be performed outdoors. These include a garden, city park, a ship or boat, a winery, or a backyard. If you choose a garden or backyard, you may want to have the ceremony performed under a focal point like an arch or a gazebo (guh-ZEE-bow). However, do not have your guests facing directly into the sun. For a city park ceremony, contact The Parks and Recreation Department in your city. They can help you locate the perfect setting. Ceremonies that take place on a ship or a boat are usually less traditional. Look in your yellow pages or local newspaper for boat rentals. The cost will vary, depending on the size of boat and how many hours you will be renting it. Usually, these rental boats will not provide refreshments. The catering will be left up to you. If you have a winery in your area, it can also be a unique and beautiful setting for your ceremony. Whichever setting you choose for your outdoor ceremony, it is recommended that you have an alternative, covered area in the event of bad weather. This area can be a nearby building or a rented tent. For more information on outdoor weddings, contact a wedding professional.
