When ordering invitations for your wedding, try to find a stationer that has a wide variety of styles and prices from which to choose. Also make sure that the stationer is knowledgeable about wording and type styles. When deciding how many invitations to order, remember that you need one invitation per couple, one invitation per single guest, and another one for the guest's date. Also, send a separate invitation for children sixteen years or older. You may want to order extra invitation for keepsakes, last minute guests, and mistakes. There are several types of printing processes used in creating invitations. You will probably want to choose one that creates the style that matches your wedding and fits your budget. Engraved invitations are usually the most expensive and are used for traditional, formal weddings. This process involves raising the letters above the paper by pressing the paper onto a metal plate. Another process called thermography produces a similar effect at a lower price. It involves fusing ink and powder on the paper to create raised letters. This process allows you to choose from a variety of ink colors and type styles. When ordering invitations, remember to ask for samples. Also, it is a good idea to order your thank-you cards when you order your invitations since you will start sending thank-you notes shortly after your invitations are sent out. For more information on ordering invitations, contact a wedding specialist.
