Invitations/Stationery

Addressing and mailing invitations
When addressing your invitations, remember it is better if they are handwritten rather than typed. If your handwrtiting is hard to read, you may want to ask some of your family members or wedding party to address them for you.
Announcements
You may choose to send announcements to people that you did not invite to the wedding because they live too far away, they are only acquaintances, or you know they are unable to attend the wedding.
Ceremony program
Ceremony programs state the order in which the wedding will proceed. The program can be printed on inexpensive paper or can be produced in the same fashion as the wedding invitations.
How many guests to invite?
When deciding how may guests to invite to your wedding, there are a few factors that may affect your decision. Do you want a large wedding or a small intimate gathering? Do you want to have fewer people and have a sit-down dinner with an open bar or would you rather have a larger reception with less food and drinks? Have you chosen the location for the ceremony and reception? The space may dictate how many people you can invite.
Ordering invitations
When ordering invitations for your wedding, try to find a stationer that has a wide variety of styles and prices from which to choose. Also make sure that the stationer is knowledgeable about wording and type styles.
Response cards
Response cards are a practical way to know how many people will be attending your wedding. Response cards are sent out to everyone on your guest list and are usually included in the invitation.
Thank you notes
You will probably be receiving many gifts during your showers and pre-wedding parties, plus additional gifts at the actual wedding. It is important to keep cards with the gifts and keep a record of what gifts are received from whom.
