Even though you will receive most of your gifts before the wedding, some may be given at the reception. It is a good idea to set aside a table specifically for these gifts and have someone in your wedding party monitor them. Unfortunately, gifts sometimes disappear mysteriously. You may want to check beforehand if there is a locked closet or storage room where you can keep the gifts. Even though you've asked someone to watch the table, that person probably doesn't want to stand guard all evening. Make sure that the person at the gift table has a roll of scotch tape, so that the cards can be attached to the presents. Gifts aren't usually opened at the reception, but can be opened later that evening or the next day. For more information on gifts at the reception, contact a wedding specialist.
