Anniversaries can be among the most special of events. They mark points in time that may cause you to reflect on the joy of not only your marriage, but also friends, families, and life itself. Each anniversary year is designated by a special, traditional symbol. For example, the first anniversary is paper, 25th is silver, and 50th is golden. The 25th and the 50th anniversaries are usually the most significant, as far as being traditionally celebrated with parties. They can be intimate gatherings that include only family, or they may be lavish events with many guests. Anniversary parties can be great excuses to have a get-together to reunite family members who haven't seen each other for years, in the name of a happy occasion. Sometimes, the adult children of the anniversary couple may choose to throw the bash for their parents. The size of the guest list, budget, and degree of formality will probably determine the setting for the party. You may need just a private room at a restaurant or the grand ballroom of a local hotel or country club. Sentimental locations for the anniversary couple may also be taken into consideration. One feature of the party can include memories about the couple's time together, either in the form of a narrated slide show, video, or other multi-media event tracing their marriage. You may want testimonials from family and friends. The couple themselves may wish to also give their own testimonials. If so, you'll need some sort of p.a. (p-a) system and equipment. You may want to display blown-up photos of the couple as decorations, including their wedding photos. Don't forget to hire a photographer or videographer to record the new memories.
