Pearls are a popular choice for the bride, her attendants, or as the groom's gift to his loved one. By choosing cultured pearls, you can enjoy the same beautiful lustre, at a much better price. Cultured pearls are real; but unlike those which occur at random, cultured types are created by deliberately placing a tiny mother-of-pearl bead inside the oyster. The resulting pearl appears almost identical to a natural pearl; only an expert can easily tell the difference. When shopping for cultured pearls, look for those which are as perfectly round as possible. They should have a warm, brilliant gleam, and no obvious bumps, blemishes or other flaws. You'll find many shades, with white, black, rose and cream being the most desirable. But get the color you like, and the one that looks best with your skin. If buying a pearl necklace, you'll also want a style that complements your wedding dress. The shorter princess or choker length pearls are best for lower-necked gowns, while long strands go well with high-necked styles. In addition, small pearl necklaces, earrings or bracelets can make a nice gift for your bridal attendants.
