Caring for your diamond

Diamonds are the hardest natural substance found in the world. Because diamonds are so durable in addition to being so beautiful, they make excellent engagement and wedding rings. To take care of your diamond, you will want to take precautions that your diamond does not scratch your other jewelry. Store your diamond away from other jewelry. Check the setting on your diamond frequently to make sure it is still secure and does not have any rough edges. The rough edges could catch on your hosiery and clothing and create tears and holes. Clean the diamond by hand with a soft toothbrush, lint free rag, and jewelry cleaner as often as possible. Keep all harsh chemicals away from your ring in order to prevent damage to the setting. Also, it is recommended that you take your ring periodically to the jeweler where you purchased it. The jeweler can provide professional cleaning and can also check the setting to ensure it is properly secured. For more information on caring for your diamond, contact a jewelry professional.
