Your choice of wedding site may be influenced by a number of factors, such as your religious affiliation; your budget; the climate and weather; how many guests are invited; and also by what's available on the date you choose. If you're a member of a church or synagogue, they may allow you to use the chapel for little or no money; renting an outside church, however, can sometimes be expensive. If religion isn't a concern, you could opt for a civil site like a hotel, with a judge or other official presiding. Another option is to get married at home...yours or someone else's. Home weddings can be quite charming...and work well if you have a small guest list. Also, how traditional a wedding do you want? If the answer is 'not very!' then your choices are even greater. Weddings have been held in the mountains, by the ocean, in historic mansions, old theatres, even underwater! Some people choose a location that reflects their career or hobbies. Contact your local visitor's bureau for a list of possible wedding sites. In summary, you should choose a location that makes you feel good, and that the rest of the family can live with, too.
